Before settling in Matawan, NJ, Rita Patel served tenures as a per diem pharmacist and the owner of Shayona Pharmacy in nearby Perth Amboy. Over the course of her career, Rita Patel has also served as a staff pharmacist with Walgreens and Rite Aid stores in both NJ and NY.
Before securing her license to practice as a pharmacist in the United States, she worked as a pharmacy intern with the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, and before passing her North American Pharmacist Licensure and Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency examinations, she served Beth Israel as a pharmacy technician. She holds a bachelor of science from the AR College of Pharmacy in Vallabh Vidyanagar.
To augment her professional activities, Ms. Patel holds membership in the retail pharmacy trade group and buying cooperative the Independent Pharmacy Alliance. She also supports independent community pharmacists across the United States as a member of the National Community Pharmacists Association.
